Thomas Edison is a 45 metre FBM designed Tricat passenger catamaran. At the time of delivery, Thomas Edison and its two earlier built sisterships, were the fastest commercial ferries in the world capable of reaching speeds of 52 knots!
Thomas Edison features include:

PERFORMANCE:
Thomas Edison can sustain loaded service speeds in excess of 45 knots. The vessel is powered by two T60 marine turbines (rated at 5567kW each) manufactured by a Caterpillar company, Solar Turbines. Solar Turbines, headquartered in San Diego, USA, designed and manufactured this equipment under quality management systems certified to ISO 9001 standards. At the time of purchasing these units Solar Turbines had produced more than 9,500 marine and industrial gas turbines in the 1000 kW to 11,000 kW range class for customers in 80 countries. Additionally, these 9,500 turbines had logged more than 530 million operating hours with excellent reliability.
