A 32 metre fast passenger catamaran, the UK-flag Red Jet 5 is available for sale.
Designed in the United Kingdom by FBM Marine and built in 1999 in the United States by Pequot River Shipworks for Bahamas Ferries, since 2009 this stylish ferry has been owned by the Red Funnel Group and operated from Southampton to the Isle of Wight.
Prior to entering UK service the craft was extensively refitted with a brand new interior. With a service speed of 35 knotsRed Jet 5 accommodates 186 passengers in a spacious, air conditioned passenger cabin with leather seats, laptop power points and video. Tinted windows provide passengers with excellent all round visibility.
Built to a “Solent Design” the Red Jet 5’s slender twin hulls deliver low wash /wake making her entirely suitable for operation in environmentally sensitive areas. For service in areas of high traffic and confined docks the craft is also highly manoeuverable.
Notably, during the 2012 London Olympic Games, she was chartered to Thames Clippers for high profile use as a high speed passenger shuttle on the River Thames.
Available for delivery in Q2 2016 however seller is willing to negotiate this to assist purchaser needs.
